4 Fathering Challenges
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!—Psalm 127:4-5
Fathers and husbands encounter four principal issues when raising a family in today's world.
- Time—in that, we all live hectic lives that have the potential to crowd out time with family, wife, and kids.
- Communication—in that, we struggle to find effective means of expressing our thoughts, feelings, and concerns with our children and wife.
- Starting—in that, we often haven't been taught how to begin so we don't know how.
- Character—in that, our character is continually going through a transformation at the same time we are leading others.
But these issues do not change our call to lead, disciple, and shepherd our family. God tells us to fill our "quiver" in lieu of these challenges, and we will be "blessed" in process.
DO THIS: Lean into the fathering challenges you have.
PRAYER: God, I want to be a man, father, husband, and leader who prioritizes time with you, effectively communicates, takes the initiative, and lives with character in spite of the challenges that I encounter in life.
