A Cry For Help - Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live
"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46
Over the weekend, Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live published this tweet which was promptly deleted. "I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so." Pete was crying for help, as we all have or will at some point. Even Jesus Christ had a moment like this, on this cross in his final moments we hear his cry - “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” It's a moment in time when we feel a quiet, lonely, desperate despair that we think no one understands. But God does. Here me - God does. He knows the cry of his Son, and he know your's too. And he's eager to save you. Note the Psalmist who says, "When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Psalm 34:17-19.
DO THIS: Cry out to God.
