A High Profit with Low Investment

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?—Matthew 16:26

Those who lead a business in today's world want this one thing. "Maximum profitability with minimal investment."

And while you too may want it, the question is, can it be found? Will you ever purchase that $1 lottery ticket that results in a billion-dollar payout? Will you strike it rich buying that one share of stock that becomes the next giant? Will you purchase a small piece of land on which geologists find the wealthiest deposit of gas and oil on the planet? Will you design the next revolutionary product or service that takes the world by storm? Well, there's a chance, but it's infinitesimal. And while you want minimal investment, the investment is always higher than most expect. It's an investment of labor, knowledge, and capital over enormous quantities of time, often with only a small percentage guarantee that it will produce returns. And it's all worth nothing if the pursuit means you "forfeit your soul."

Jesus' question above is one for all to consider. Are you investing in something that guarantees a soulful return?

DO THIS: Invest 5 minutes in something of soulful value. You could invest time in praying for a friend, telling your wife one reason you appreciate her, talking to a child and ask them how you can be praying, or reading one chapter of the Bible.

PRAY THIS: God, forgive me for investing so much time in meaningless things.
