A Strong Stand
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.—Ephesians 6:10-11
There is the strength we all have, and then there is strength in the Lord. And the latter is a different kind of strength. It's a strength that comes with his might, not yours. So take what you have for strength and multiply it by infinity, and then count the measure of God's strength if you can. But the question is—which strength would you rather have? Yours? Or the Lord's? If you want the Lord's, then you have to put on his armor. And not just part of it, the whole thing. And it's not physical armor for a physical battle and a physical enemy. Don't you recollect, David tried that with King Saul's armor, and it wasn't useful. So David put it off and ran into the battle with a different armor—the whole armor of God. So as you prepare for this day, the question is—are you dressed? Because the man dressed right is ready and able to stand—not against people but the devil's schemes.
ASK THIS: Are you dressed for a fight with people or a battle with the devil's schemes?
DO THIS: Dress appropriately today.
PRAY THIS: God, help me to look beyond the people I will encounter today. May I see with spiritual eyes the real battle before me. And I ask today for supernatural strength and protection as I wear your armor, the very armor of God.
