Acknowledge God

And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

1 Chronicles 28:9

David was a father with a lengthy resume. At this point in his life, he had seen battles, family struggles, leadership challenges, and plenty of God's hand at work. As a man after God's own heart, he stayed directionally correct despite a few missteps along the way. This moment between father and son is a compelling example of a seasoned leader and father passing the baton.

All men will have to transfer leadership and receive leadership in life. See that the emphasis here is laser-focused on acknowledging God. The Lord must be front and center. David knew this after many seasons of leadership and passed on this wisdom to his son. As you receive or give leadership responsibility, follow this father's advice to his son.

DO THIS TODAY: Acknowledge God in your leadership.
