So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven.—Matthew 10:32
We all want acknowledgment. Sometimes we need it to ensure we're doing the right thing in uncertainty. Other times we need it to be affirmed of mutual affection in a relationship. But in this verse, Jesus is touching on the merit of public acknowledge, not merely the personal type. It's a pride that proclaims we will publically pronounce that we acknowledge the God who acknowledges us.
DO THIS: Proclaim his name today—if perhaps you have been too soft, secretive, or subdued.
PRAY THIS: God, secure my pride in you. Then give me the courage and faith to live proudly in who you are.
