"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23
Now, these are the words of a real man. One who called men like you into a great adventure. He was an Adventurer calling you to join him on an adventure out of the reach of your daily comforts. One that would result in a complete altering of your identity through self-denial. One that commanded followership of someone whose truth is certified, complete, and more correct than your own. The life you want will never be found in your current comforts, complacency, or contentments. It is going to require a belief in something more significant. It will require sacrifices you have yet to make. But what are you waiting for? If you are currently missing out leap - Jesus states adventure awaits.
"I know what must be done. Only now am I beginning to be a disciple. May nothing of powers visible or invisible prevent me, that I may attain unto Jesus Christ. Come fire and cross and grapplings with wild beasts, the rending of my bones and body, come all the torments of the wicked one upon me. Only let it be mine to attain unto Jesus Christ." Ignatius of Antioch.
DO THIS: Live adventurously.
PRAYER: God, I know I like my comforts. Clarify today what you require of me. I boldly ask that if you are calling me to give something up that you will show me what that thing might be. And God if a piece of me must die, give me the courage to come and die.
