ALIGNMENT
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
What does it take to hear from God? Hearing God and understanding His will requires proper alignment. Follow Paul's line of thinking in Romans 12 and notice what he says about discerning God's will. Living sacrifices, renewing the mind, and testing are the activities that precede understanding the will of God. These activities require intention and are ongoing. Hearing God means a man must practice repeated intentional spiritual discipline.
Being receptive to God is a life-long pursuit. Most men would admit they want to hear from God but don't put in the work Paul describes. It is intuitive to realign the seat, mirrors, and radio in a car you don't regularly drive. If you want to see clearly and drive well, you have to make adjustments. Having spiritual clarity also requires modification. And once aligned, hearing from God becomes more natural.
DO THIS TODAY: Practice spiritual alignment.
