Always Whole-Hearted

Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart—Ephesians 6:5-6

I'll be the first to admit, I've done things half-hearted in my life. Sometimes that's how we do things when we don't want to do them or when we don't like the people we have to do them for. And we've all done this, but that's not how God wants us to do it. God's not looking for just the action so we can put on a display of eye-service for the purpose of people-pleasing. He wants us to put some heart into it; a full motivational effort—a sincere heart. When you have to do something you don't want to do today, don't just get it done, instead go a little further. Serve from the inside out and imagine you are serving Christ because then you are really serving as a servant and doing the will of God.

ASK THIS: What's something you have to do that you don't want to do today?

DO THIS: Do that one thing with all your heart.

PRAY THIS: God, help me to serve this person as you have stooped to serve me.
