Anticipate Government

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
    and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.—Isaiah 9:6

If you are frustrated with the government, look no further. Look not to the natural, but the supernatural. Look not to an entity, but a person. Look to the one who is wonderful, mighty, and everlasting. He brings peace, not more hostility. And besides, he can bear it all on his shoulders. There is nothing he is incapable of governing. He is the Son of the Everlasting Father, and his name is Jesus. Anticipate him and let him rule your heart.

DO THIS: Let Jesus govern your challenges today, he is capable of bearing the load.

PRAY THIS: God, I give you the highest praise for the government of Jesus over the sin of humanity. There are many days I feel like I cannot bear the load, but you can. Today reign over my heart and life—govern me.
