Anticipate Trouble
When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him—Matthew 2:3
It's interesting how people responded to even the thought of Jesus' birth. Even as a fetus, he's already making trouble for the government and its people. But like most, King Herod and the people of Jerusalem misinterpreted the threat. With hindsight, we discover the only trouble he created was an uprising against cosmic sin and spiritual death. Yet should we be surprised, for this is what happens when infinite holiness comes in contact with a finite and unholy world—people, governments, nations, and kings becomes troubled.
DO THIS: Ask for cleansing from the sin that troubles you.
PRAY THIS: God, cleanse me of all unrighteousness today, may I stand before you whole and holy. May I stand resolute.
