Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.—Ephesians 2:20-22
It's a construction project that has been millennia in the making. It's intentional, not happenstance. It was being built by men long before our time. Men like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel. And others like Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. Then came twelve Simon, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, Judas, and Judas Iscariot. Each of these men were a part of a blueprint. A structure in the making that would become a holy temple. But the keystone, that cornerstone, was the vital piece and needed piece. While it came later, it was not an afterthought but a pre-thought. A stone that would plumb and level every other stone. It was cut not by human hands but by God himself. And the temple being built was unique and different. The temple is you in which dwells the Holy Spirit of God.
ASK THIS: How is your life being built by the Spirit today?
DO THIS: Act upon the Spirit's voice as he plumbs and levels your life.
PRAY THIS: God, thanks for nudging me by the Spirit even now. May my life reflect The Man and the men who have walked before me. May my contribution to your blueprint be another stone on the wall of the legacy you imagined in your mind.
PLAY THIS: Passion: Build My Life.
