Be Immature
Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.—1 Corinthians 14:20
I need to grow up sometimes. When I am self-defeating in my thinking. When situations overwhelm me and thus get me down. When I become selfish in my words and actions. And when a sinful attitude silences the voice basic common sense—and I have been here a few times.
But immaturity is allowed. Good news, right? To be immature is to be "not fully developed." Thus to be "immature in evil" is to be "not fully developed in any action, thought, or attitude contrary to the will of God." So today welcome immaturity to know evil and to act evil. There is no pride in knowing evil, and it is the basis of shame, guilt, and regret in every spiritual testimony, I have ever heard.
DO THIS: Get to know evil less, not more.
PRAYER: God, keep me from evil today, and every day that follows.
