Be Thankful

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Everyone has a hard time being thankful. But you will notice that the author assumes thankfulness is a continuous activity. Along with "rejoicing" and "praying," you are commanded to give thanks - not just on a national holiday - but all the time. And this is not the author's will, but the "will of God in Christ Jesus for you." You'll note the operative word "for." Rejoicing, prayer, and thankfulness are not activities wanted "from" you but "for" you. And why? Well maybe because when you do them your attitude and your focus changes which lead to you living out the "will of God."

DO THIS: Be thankful and do the will of God.

PRAYER: God, today I thank you for...
