In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.—Ephesians 1:4-6

I don't know why we have such a hard time believing it, but you are not an afterthought of God. You were a pre-thought of God. He predestined your adoption as a son. But for some reason, men prefer to think of themselves as orphans left abandoned while holding to thoughts of defeat and rejection. Brother—your Father has gone to great loving lengths in pursuit of you. Willfully and purposefully, he sought you with grace. Believe it.
