Carried to Safety

ENGLISH

When God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.—1 Peter 3:20

It's remarkable how patient God is. And we discover here that his patience is for us. While God saw the evil intent of our hearts at the beginning of time, he still gave us time to act. He desires that we act for our benefit. But to discover the benefit, we must prepare. We prepare by learning to trust God's message of salvation. He is even willing to wait for us to take all the small steps over long periods of time. Consider this. That over a span of 120 years, God was patient with man's iniquity. Consider that the boat built by Noah took about 50-75 years to construct. And then water flooded planet earth much like a pandemic. Destruction by water. But for those eight persons who believed based on the faith and obedience of one man who acted, this same water was salvation—all because in advance they built a boat.

ASK THIS: Have you built a boat?

DO THIS: Don't let the water be your destruction but your salvation. Act on God's Word. Be obedient today.

PRAY THIS: God, help me to trust where I don't. And may my trust turn to obedience.

PLAY THIS: Big Daddy Weave. Trust And Obey.
