For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:15-18
Remember the first time you realized just how much God had forgiven you. If you’ve been a follower of Jesus Christ for any length of time, you may have had this moment more than once. The first time I had this experience, I was filled with thanksgiving. I did not deserve what God was offering me, and I knew of nothing I could offer in return except for thanksgiving.
The more time I spend daily thanking God for His gift to me, the more content I am with life. What could be better? Regardless of what I have or what situation I am in, I am a forgiven man. And that faith in Jesus Christ cannot be taken from me. Contentment is something I am that is fueled by my expressing thanks to God. Contentment overlooks what is lacking and draws a sharp focus on what is in hand. Giving thanks is ultimately what feeds contentment. Give God the gratitude He deserves and build contentment in your life with an eternal perspective.
DO THIS TODAY: Praise God for His grace.
