There are many who are aware of the privilege it is to be here, and they inspire and challenge me to remember that it’s also a privilege for me to be part of this learning community.

    • Robert Ordóñez says:

I also noticed that I struggled with making all my gratitude items performance-based: “I’m so thankful that I got THIS done and completed THAT and didn’t fall into this OTHER pitfall, blah, blah, blah.” This is an opportunity for me to focus on what God has done, and acknowledge that even what I seem to have done is only possible because of Him. Man, self rears its ugly head every chance it gets, huh?!

It was easy to think of things for which I am thankful, but it was difficult to narrow down 5 -specific- things. There are some obvious things, and some not-so-obvious. There was an honorable mention that I was obliged to throw in there as a “bonus 6th,” but immediately, at the top of my list, secular list though it may be, is my mother. Specifically her, among my entire family. She may not REALLY understand what I have been going through (unfortunately I am stubborn in insisting that she cannot), but she certainly is trying, and every now and again, she actually breaks through. Without them mentoring and pushing me to seek my relationship with our Heavenly Father and to find best practices to better my daily sin struggles, I would be truly lost. 109. AZ says:

I’m thankful for a Praying Mother!! It’s my mom that first drew the line in the sand against the enemy and said “NO MORE DEVIL”…the curse stops here. This doesn’t mean we’re perfect and all is peaches and oranges, but the course of our family has changed forever. Through her dedication, persistence, and sacrifice, the generations of our family will grow more and more for God!

Lord, thank you for my wife! She grinds it out every day for our family and I don’t thank You enough for her!

I look back over my life, and like everyone, there has been several valleys and deserts. The most important thing I am thankful for is going through difficult times in my life and able to express my deepest feelings to Him, thankful, for my wife, my parents, kids and grandkids and how He shaped me for Himself. I don’t always see the purpose behind the trials, but I am thankful that He always has my best interest at heart, that He loves me enough to die for me, that He dances over me, though sometimes I wonder why.

I am thankful for the many gifts He has given me & the vision to see it is all Him. I thank Him that He gave me the desire to walk with Him and live for Him. I am thankful for my Christian family and those that are honest enough to live in their humanity and not ashamed to show it, because they are living out His grace.

Even though we are going through rough times, I am pleased to know I can still pause Him, knowing He always holds to His Word.

    To Jesus, be the glory

  253. Mike says:

I’m thankful for my friends, mentors and family that are always there for me. Even if we don’t connect often, I still know I can depend on them during circumstances, challenges or just to ask a question.

    • Kirk says:

I have a lot of things to be thankful for. So honestly just stating one thing is doing justice to all the blessings I have received. I have a wonderful wife, children and grandchildren. All are healthy and happy. I have a good job which I enjoy doing. I could go on but God has given me a lot to be thankful for.
