Death Destroyed

...and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.—2 Timothy 1:10

There is one point that is often left out of many gospel presentations. It was the main point of every gospel message in the first century. And Paul, the principal teacher in the first century, notes it here again. He hammers it home. It is the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. The appearing of Christ in the flesh. It is the ultimate proof of Jesus's power over all things. It's the supreme evidence for us of his power over death and life so that we can have life after death.

But here's the deal. We may know this and even celebrate it, but we may not live as we truly believe it. I mean, really live like we actually believe Jesus Christ destroyed death.

So here is the actionable. We have to live every day like death is destroyed. We have to not only accept the resurrection and celebrate it on Easter, but we also have to live every day as if it happened and it's going to happen for us. This means we, as a believer, should wake up every day and look our fear of death in the eye and smile. Smile because, in our mind, heart, and soul, we know that at the moment we leave this place, we are simply moving from the land of dying to the land of the living. So get out there today and live like Christ defeated death and brought you life and immortality.

ASK THIS: What attitude and mindset adjustment do you need to make today in light of Jesus's defeat of death? (Share it in the comments below)

DO THIS: Smile in your heart, and live like death is defeated.

PRAY THIS: God, help me adjust my thoughts and attitudes to the immortal truth that death was defeated. And may I live today accordingly.

PLAY THIS: NorthPoint. Death Was Arrested.
