Discerning

"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ."—Philippians 1:9-10

I think it is striking how "love" gives way to "knowledge and discernment." Love, the most significant factor of our faith and perhaps the most astounding feature of God's character, is what gives means to increasing "knowledge and discernment." It's not education, social networks, privilege, or even luck—it's love. Love that abounds. Both increasing love for God and fellow man. So if you want to "approve what is excellent" and "so be pure and blameless" spend some time today praying for increasing and abounding love.

DO THIS: Abound in love, and pray for it to move through you today.

PRAYER: God, today, show me how to love the unlovable person, and then allow me to love them.
