Do It Immediately

ENGLISH

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.—Galatians 5:25

If you are asked to do something, and you don't do it immediately, is this disobedience? If you are a son who is receiving direction from a father, you might categorize this as eventual obedience. If you are a father who is dictating direction to a son, you might classify this as delayed obedience. But we can only classify this in this matter if we do it. It's conditional, based on the necessary action. And with age, we learn that if we don't do something at that moment, when prompted or commanded, we will probably forget to do it. Therefore Paul says, if you are a man who claims to live by the Spirit, then keep in step with the Spirit—not eventually—but immediately.

DO THIS: Act immediately when prompted by God's Spirit today.

PRAY THIS: God, help me to live dependently, sensitively, and obediently to you at all times today.
