Eager Anticipation
"Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” Mark 14:25
Often you will wonder what heaven is like. And while you imagine it as very different from your present experience, Jesus suggests that there are some things that will be similar. In his preparation for his impending death, he has a final meal with this closest buds. This Passover meal is one with a rich history meaning to Jews. While this could be a somber moment for them, Jesus turns the symbolism of the meal toward something more hopeful. This meal, known to you today as the Lord's Supper, is a foreshadow of hope. And it's a meal you'll enjoy in heaven with him in the days that come. So as you celebrate the Lord's Supper, remember you're raising a glass to Christ, his sacrifice, and the fervent hope of celebrating again. Therefore live today live in eager anticipation. Don't be somber be full of anticipation.
DO THIS: Be eager and anticipate great things today.
PRAYER: God, today may I eagerly anticipate the great things that you have in store for me.
