Evidences For The Resurrection

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. — Acts 1:8

One of the great evidences supporting the resurrection is that more than 500 people witnessed the risen Lord. In fact, Jesus post-resurrection makes the statement above. And Luke was a witness to this moment. But if you want even more evidence, there was the outpouring of the Spirit. Through the Spirit, we see resurrection power at work not just in one man, but in those who would receive it, reveal it, and thus witness by it.

As followers Jesus wants us to know four critical things. First, that we will be witnesses to the Spirit's power. Second, we will be indwelled and therefore become witnesses of the Spirit's power. Third, that God will work through us, and we will witness by the Spirit's power. Fourth, as we witness, we become a witness for resurrection power. Thus we see the evidence, experience the evidence, tap into the evidence, and become the evidence.

So today, let's allow the power of the Spirit to work through us and become the evidence for all people — to the ends of the earth.

ASK THIS: Have you received the Spirit's power?

DO THIS: Be a witness to one person today and be the evidence of a resurrected Lord. (Share who you might share God's power with today in the comments below)

PRAY THIS: God, use me and display your power through me as the evidence.

PLAY THIS: Never Walk Alone.

I had lunch with a couple Christian friends today. Considering where I was a couple years ago… the Holy Spirit is working in me. Some days I think I need to be hit over the head with a 2×4 to remind me and then follow through.

Our prayer group was talking after watching the Devo, and we would be willing to come over and help finish that wall some day.
