False Security

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scoffers, who rule this people in Jerusalem! Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement, when the overwhelming whip passes through it will not come to us,
for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter”;  therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’ Isaiah 28:14-16

Leadership and false security are a recipe for disaster.

No one can question the confidence of the leadership in Israel. Confident leadership is a good thing, but when security is placed in the wrong stronghold, things go sideways very quickly. At this time in the history of Israel, it’s leadership was an illustration of false security. They were confident in all foundations except for the foundation laid by God Himself. There is no doubt in my mind that scripture records this exchange because all men need a reminder to place confidence in God alone.

Jesus was provided as the Cornerstone. Faith in Him is the only security that mankind can find. Test yourself today. What have you become increasingly anxious about? Finances? Work? Health? Family? You’ll know if you have false security when you evaluate your response to life’s high’s and low’s. When Jesus is the cornerstone of a man’s life, he is unshakable in ANY storm.

DO THIS TODAY: Start being confident in the Cornerstone and nothing else.
