Fix

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1-3

The North Star, otherwise known as Polaris, has been a fixed point men have used to navigate for many years. Whether traversing land or sea, watching the night sky for this Northern point is traditional method for determining direction without a compass. True North lies directly under this star, thus setting a course for it will help you determine direction. Why is seeing a fixed point important while traveling? Moving with precision requires setting accurate direction.

All men are travelers. Whether it is over great physical distance or directly through time, we do not stay in the same place. There is a great cloud of witnesses that should influence our movement through this life. As you move, move in a correct direction. Fix our eyes on Jesus. He is the point that gives all men proper orientation. When you begin to lose your bearing, look to Him who is the perfecter of faith.

DO THIS TODAY: Think about one quality of Jesus and fix your mind on it.
