For Mom

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”—Proverbs 31:25-30

Mom, there is no one quite like you. You are amazing in all your ways, and your calling in this chapter of the Proverbs is one that is beyond noble. While you may at moments during the year question your ability and see only your deficiencies—today I see you through the eyes of "strength and dignity;" it is after all your "clothing." Your perspective is beyond others "laughs" at the impossibilities of the future. "Wisdom" only comes from your mouth, and I hang on every word. You "teach kindly," and I never catch you sitting "idle." I, your child, love you. And today you surpass them all. Happy Mother's day. Be perfect today; you are in my eyes.

DO THIS: Tell your mother, you love her—precisely the way she is.

PRAYER: God, thank you for mothers. Today we adore your creation—women & mothers.
