But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:16-17

By nature, men long for freedom. We don't always articulate this with words, but the weight of this desire leads to all sorts of activities. Some want to be free to do something, while other men want to be free from something. Freedom is found only where the Spirit of the Lord is present.

God knows what men need. There is no doubt in my mind that the coming of Jesus Christ met the greatest need we have. As you think about your life and your desires, remind yourself today that God knows you better than you know yourself. And He sent His Son to live a life on full display, poured out for all men. The Spirit of God came to us. As a result, He brought a divinely discerned freedom for all who accept Jesus.
