From Downcast to Uplifted
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.—Psalm 103:2-4
When we are downcast, we tend to recall our present trouble rather than all his benefits. But it's his benefits that lift us up. Forgiveness, healing, redemption, and crowning each remind, refresh, and restore the downcast soul. So if you are down today, then maybe you need to look up. Look up to the Lord, who crowns men with steadfast love and mercy. Stand tall, my brother. The Lord is not far from your iniquity, disease, and life in the pit.
