A Year With God For You

ENGLISH

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? — Romans 8:31

This text is a double reminder for believers. First, it's a reminder that if you are against God's plan, plan on losing. But, second, it's a reminder that God's plan is for believers, and there is a guaranteed outcome. And who does not want a guarantee? Especially a guarantee on something as important as our eternity?

Yet I know many believing men who frequently question their salvation. They question God's justification of their sin because they believe their sin is too great or too repetitive in their life. Therefore they perceive themselves to be too sinful for God to make righteous. Yet this verse counters that unbelief. And I get it. There are days that we all don't feel good enough. But there are many days over your lifetime you will feel this way. So on these days, you cannot trust your feelings over the truth in Romans 8:31. God is for you! The only one who can be against you — is well you. And how do I know this? Because God defeated Satan, sin, and death. The only thing left to beat us is our unbelief. So stop being your own worse enemy this year. Trust in the truth of God's Word over any feeling you have. And remember:

If God is for me, who can be against me? Me?! May it never be.

ASK THIS: In what moments does unbelief most creep in and cause you to question your salvation? (Share below if you are inclined.)

DO THIS: Trust in God's truth over your feelings.

PRAY THIS: God, make your truth more real than my feelings of unbelief.

Thank you Vince for your daily devotions. God led me to your ministry just when I needed it the most! Have a blessed new year. I look forward to seeing you in person at the upcoming Man Up event Feb 4 in Palm Coast, FL.

  3. Mark says:

Back in late June God began to work in my life by convicting me (again) of a number of years being involved in sexual sin and pornograhy. I grew up in the Church, held leadership positions in my church and led a Christ-led life for many years. I was that guy you could count on, the one to lead a Sunday School lesson, or prayer group. I led a Godly life. Years later I stepped away from Church and slowly drifted in my relationship with the Lord. My journey into sexual immorality and sin was deep and got worse over time. I’ve done things I never ever thought was possible for me, Satan used every tool and every temptation available to separate me from God – and in my weak, selfish manhood – I allowed it. Once God convicted me and I gave this all to him, God began to do a mighty work in my life. I was searching for a daily devotional, something to bring me closer to Him and get me back into daily Bible study, prayer and time with my Lord. Looking around one day I found Vince – and Be Resolute, “Live All In” he said and I thought, OK here’s something I can do. Since that day, everyday I begin with Vince. There are days that I am so blessed I”m in tears. God gave me a Christian brother years ago and today, we are prayer warriors, brothers in Christ, we can be completely honest and vulnerable with each other. True accountability partners – and together we share and discuss Vince’s daily devotional and seek God’s guidance and plan for the day and the future. I can truthfully say that I’ve never felt more at peace and closer to the Lord as a result. I know this is long brothers, but I wanted to say thanks to Vince for his ministry! And I wanted to encourage each of you that might be struggling with trusting Him, or feeling unworthy, or that you’re wanting and needing more. Trust me when I say that God NEVER leaves you – l know today that even though my life was based in sin and my choices were incredibly stupid and risky, God never left me, in fact, He protected me in ways that I never understood at the time. Today I’m blessed, I’m at peace and I am closer in my walk with Him than I’ve ever been. The same can be true for you – today, remember that God is WITH you, and no one can take that away. Thanks Vince and the brothers here – wishing you all a very Blessed and Happy New Year!

This last year has brought new things, some good and some bad. I just wanted to mention one of the good that I know how God has shown me that He is definitely for me. This year I “stumbled” onto Vince Miller’s daily devotionals. At first they were an audio message and that was great. Simple and easy to listen to they set my day in a direction of Truth and gave me a perspective I might not have seen before. Then the devotionals became video and how things took off exponentially! Everyday this man Vince Miller comes to my house and help guide me and nourishes men with the Gospel. At times it can be cutting, but the two edged sword will heal as it comes out and there has been a rise to a new level in this soul that is so refreshing.
Thank all you men and thank you Vince! Happy New year!

  6. Dave Benson says:

I start to exercise unbelief when I isolate myself from Christian brothers too long. When it feels like the enemy has me cornered, I can simply pick up the phone and call a brother or enjoy some coffee with them and God uses them to lift me up. Most often when we do this, the brother you’re connecting with, is in the same boat. God’s timing is perfect!

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

    Happy New Year to all!

  7. Sheldon says:

When I am tempted to yield to temptations that are areas of challenge for me, having prayed about it before. I know the enemy is the accuser of the brethren , and I also know that the Holy Spirit can keep me from falling.

      Jude 24-25
      The Message
And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.

  8. Trent says:

I do not question only my salvation but also the existence of God. When I am depressed and on the verge of giving up on it all, the thought comes to me “what if man made all this up just so we are not afraid to die?” But it is not as convincing as it once was. I have recognized and labeled the scam so as to more easily recognize it through my pain clouded judgment. It still creeps in, but has little effect. At one time it was quite devastating to my already shaky mental state. Praise God for His truth and those willing to explain it to/remind us when we need it most.

    • Vince Miller says:

Trent, I love your confession here, I am sure others struggle with this too. Thanks for taking the time and having the courage to share it here. I am sure this will help other men as they read it!

      • Trent says:

I am sure you are familiar with 1 Corinthians 10:13. It is all common to man and I think we must share our struggles inspite of our manly urge to suppress them. Just 1 way to reach out for our brothers. Thank you for what you do here, in reaching out as well!

        • Mark says:

Trent, that one verse of scripture has been my rock and my “go to” in those times of temptation. Thanks for sharing it for all of us, God Bless you today and in the New Year!

    • Trent says:

Haven’t we all been there? I know I have. Try to listen for that still small “voice” and when it says jump…JUMP! I know I still miss the ball but not as much as I used to. God give you the direction to move. I feel He has already given you the desire, evil powers are just holding you back. Keep fighting, YOU GOT THIS!
