But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

If God showed up miraculously and made a bold request of you, would you comply? I'd like to think that I would immediately do what God wanted. But if I'm honest with myself, there are times when doubts and self-disqualification preoccupy my thoughts. Those are the moments when I focused on me, rather than God.

When a man has the wrong focus, he asks the wrong questions. Questions reveal the heart. Avoid being like Moses by focusing on God rather than yourself. When prompted by God to take a step of faith, do so with His ability in mind, not yours. Remember that we have a significant role in being God's image on earth. His calling is accompanied by His ability and empowerment of those who respond.
