Growth Required
We live in a time that continues to speed up. And with this speed comes the need to accommodate. We have made social accommodations not only in family and work dynamics—we have made adjustments to the church experience so we can reach people who do not yet know Christ. And while many of these changes were needed to reach people moving at a faster pace of life, we have a message that demands slow change and with it "toil, struggle, and energy." It's a message that will never change—a message about "Him." One where "maturity" is the goal. In accommodating a changing world, we can never compromise this message.
“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” —Colossians 1:28-29
DO THIS: Do one thing to grow in maturity today.
PRAYER: God, show me where you want me to grow today. Reveal a habit, hurt, or hangup I need to address that is keeping from new levels of maturity in Christ. Teach me with your wisdom.
