He Knows It All

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.” — John 13:6-11

I know we read this yesterday, but I want to reread it today because I want you to see the supernatural knowledge and ability of Jesus.

Jesus demonstrates that he can:

  • Know what is going to happen in Peter's mind after the resurrection.
  • Know the difference between true humility and false humility.
  • Know the future state of the disciples and their participation with him.
  • Know when they are confused and just don't get it.
  • Know the thoughts and actions of the one who is going to betray him.
  • Know our selfishness and sin before we even understand the full ramifications of it.

And knowing all this, he can genuinely serve us with a pure heart. He can interact with all these things simultaneously and not miss a beat. And this should be marked as a miracle. Here's why: this is something only an all-knowing and all-loving Divine Savior could do. And he does it right here. And most people won't even pause to think about it as they read it.

So that's what we're going to do today—pause and reflect on the awesome divinity of Jesus. Because there is nothing too complex for Jesus to understand, and there is nothing that he does not know about you. He knows it all, and still, he serves you out of genuine and pure love. So maybe it's time to accept that.

ASK THIS:

  1. Have you ever experienced a moment when Jesus showed supernatural knowledge or understanding in your life? How did it make you feel, and what did it teach you about his divinity?
  2. Reflecting on Jesus' ability to know our thoughts, actions, and even our future, how does this impact your understanding of his genuine and pure love for you? How does it inspire you to trust and surrender to him?

DO THIS: Accept that Jesus knows it all and still died for you.

PRAY THIS: Dear Lord, thank you for your supernatural knowledge and unwavering love. Help me to pause and recognize the miracles you perform in my life and to fully accept your divine presence and guidance.

PLAY THIS: Jesus Paid It All.

    Well said again brother Vince.

I know that we all, open to understanding His grace and mercy, have a 20/20 after God’s work has been done in our lives. I personally can go on and on about God’s supernatural hands on work in my life and where I am in all stages of my life (spiritual, physical, knowledge, understanding, wisdom, …) and I’m so grateful. Thank you Lord Jesus!
