Humble Action

And David knew that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.—2 Samuel 5:12

Pride favors self-talk that states, "leadership is from me and for my advantage." But Godly humility favors self-talk that declares, "leadership is from God for His advantage." As a follower, you will eventually face the fact that it's "the Lord who establishes" all things. Yes, "all things," including nations (i.e., Israel) but also families, businesses, churches, governments, and human life. God does this for "his kingdom" and "his people." God never does this for a man's ego and self-esteem. But this does not mean we should hesitate due to an overconcern about personal pride. Rather Godly humility never resists action in fear of pride, but instead takes action with pride in God who "establishes" us. So take action today.

DO THIS: Be humble but take action.

PRAYER: God, help me to take humble action today.
