Humble Initiaive

“And David knew that the Lord had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.” 2 Samuel 5:12

Pride favors self-talk that states, "leadership is from you and for your advantage." But Godly humility favors self-talk that declares, "leadership is from God for his advantage." At some point, you will face the fact that it is "the Lord who establishes" all things. Yes, all things. And remember, God establishes nations (like Israel) but also homes; businesses; churches; governments; and human life. And God always does this for "his kingdom" and "his people." God never does this for a man and his ego, which we often falsely believe about David. In the same way, God doesn't give you leadership exclusively and selfishly for you. In addition, remember righteous humility does not suggest we resist action in fear of pride, but rather that we take action with pride in God who "establishes" us. So take the initiative.

DO THIS: Be humble and take the initiative.

PRAYER: God, help me to take the humble initiative today in the place you call me to lead and in the areas I am afraid to act.
