I Lift My Eyes Up

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

There will be many days your head will hang low in the valley of defeat. It's unavoidable. You must face loss, we all do. You might feel defeated at this very moment. You'll experience it at work, home, or school. Sometimes it rushes upon you privately and other times publically. It could be a sin that keeps beating you up or a relationship gone haywire. But don't hang your head too long, instead "lift your eyes up to the hills." Look up and see God's army mounting, he's perched over the summit. You may only see the silhouette of his presence, but he leads a powerful infantry of mighty men. Warriors that are greater than any defeat you'll face. And God's charging into the valley of your life and coming to fight on your behalf - battling only for you. He's "your help" the one "who made heaven and earth" and he will not lose.

DO THIS: Lift up your eyes.

PRAYER: God, I'm defeated. I'm looking for you in my situation. Show yourself to me today. Give me the strength to look up, and give me the eyes the see you through my current situation.
