I Just Need A Victory

And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts. — Malachi 4:3

So we have the College Football National Championship Game in a couple of days. And as a guy who loves college football, there are times I will admit that I want a certain team to lose. Yet this isn't only true in football. It's true in life. Because if you have any form of a moral compass, you know there are times you don't like it when those who scheme, lie, and cheat get ahead. But most of the time, we don't like this because it impedes our path to getting ahead. So the motivation for justice comes from a very self-interested place. It doesn't come from a motivation of righteous judgment.

But when God acts, as he will on the last day — he will judge, and it will be just. It will come from a place of pure righteousness. And on that day, believers will be allowed to tread down all who have been wicked. We will tread over all the unjust, ungodly, and unholy. Which means wickedness, wrongdoing, iniquity, and immorality will no longer exist.

But part of what God is trying to get his people to realize is that they are a little too worried about the victory right now. They want justice now because they want justice their way. But God wants them to see justice and victory differently. He wants them to be more concerned about his final victory and live now as if they are already victors. In other words, the victory they want, they already have, but they are just not living in it.

So at that moment, you feel like you are losing, cling to our final victory. Our losses in this life mean nothing because we live only for his final victory.

ASK THIS: What present loss is keeping you from seeing your victory?

DO THIS: Cling to his victory.

PRAY THIS: God, I will take my eyes off my loss and choose to see your victory.

PLAY THIS: See A Victory.

So go TCU but a fairly called game 🤣 I’ve really had to lean on God after the loss of my Dad a year ago. It’s been quite the challenge honoring my Mom’s silly decisions
