Identity Do-Over
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
Who doesn't love a do-over (aka: "mulligan") during a round of golf? We all do. We'll even beg and plead for them if we have too. I bet you've had more than one moment in life you wish you could do something over again. Maybe you would take back a comment or moment of sarcasm that inflicted unintentional harm on someone. Maybe you would take back an action that harmed a friend or loved one. Maybe you would never start a practice that has become a compulsion. Regardless, a do-over sounds nice. Well, how about a whole life do-over? Forget taking back a misspoken word, harmful action, or bad habit when you can get an upsized do-over. You can bury the old life and its sin, mistakes, errors, and blunders, and resurrect a new life "in Christ." It's too good to be true! But that's what makes it great - it's an identity do-over.
DO THIS: Live a do-over.
PRAYER: God, I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I'm ready to live a new life in Christ. Bury my old life. Raise me to new life, and let me live it as such.
