A couple of years ago I studied light. Just for fun I took one of MIT’s online classes. For 10 weeks I studied light from the leading professor in the world.

The professor started with the premise that he would prove, that light is electro-magnetic radiation found in wave form.  Next, that light exists in particle form. And finally, that we don’t know what light is.

Laughable. Because the top ranking professor who taught quantum mechanics on light, didn’t understand light.

Thousands and thousands of years after God created the earth, scientists don’t understand the first thing God created.

How incredible is our God!

I did learn that in one form, light travels in waves. This radiation flies throughout the earth, bouncing all over the place. It comes in a form called white light. White light emits all the colors of the rainbow,

All the colors of electro-magnetic radiation bounce around, refracted and reflected back at us. As light begins to shine, it’s absorbed into objects, except a few bounce back at you. Those are the ones that you see.

The waves bounce all over the earth, all the time.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5: 14–16.

Hundreds of verses speak of light. They teach us that God is light, the Word is light, and Jesus is light.

When that light shines on our mind, truth illuminates our thoughts, will and emotions.

The verses on darkness speak of the sucking in or absorbing of light, nothing refracted or reflected. The Bible calls this darkness ignorance and evil.

Jesus calls us light, a reflection of the great glory of God. What an incredible honor, to shine light in the darkness of this decaying world.
