If you turn at my reproof,
behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you.—Proverbs 1:23
The older I get, the more willing I am to make changes in my thoughts, attitudes, or behaviors with haste. Maybe it's because I realize I have less life in front of me than I do behind me. But perhaps, it's also because I have learned to hear and heed the will of God in all situations. I have discovered along the road of life that God is always speaking to me. It may come in the form of a nudge, a whisper, or even a reproof. And the appropriate response on my part is to turn. Turn immediately. Turn not to stop the reproof, but for the benefit of receiving the Spirit and hearing the further instruction, God is speaking to me. And who doesn't want to listen to the word of the Lord? The answer is simple; the one who refuses to turn.
DO THIS: When you experience reproof today, turn.
PRAY THIS: God, help me in your effort to change my thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors. May I be more receptive to your teaching and your will for me.
