It Stands Forever

The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.—Isaiah 40:8

Some things don't last. This is because they are not meant to last. Things like grass and flowers have a lifespan. Like all creation, including us, they have their day in the sun—and then it's gone. But not God's Word. It's eternal, true, permanent, and trustworthy. It stands forever, even when people have tried to take it down. Therefore we can trust in what it says and in the God who delivered it.

DO THIS: Start trusting in God and everything he says, and nothing else.

PRAY THIS: God, help me to hold to your Word today and even find one I can cling to in our uncertain times.

Se seca la hierba, se marchita la flor,
pero la palabra de nuestro Dios permanecerá para siempre. (Isaías 40: 8)

Algunas cosas no duran. Esto se debe a que no están destinados a durar. Cosas como la hierba y las flores tienen una vida útil. Como toda la creación, incluyéndonos a nosotros, ellos tienen su día bajo el sol y luego se va. Pero no la Palabra de Dios. Es eterno, verdadero, permanente y digno de confianza. Permanece para siempre, incluso cuando la gente ha tratado de eliminarlo. Por tanto, podemos confiar en lo que dice y en el Dios que lo entregó.
