It's Divine Communication

ENGLISH

And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? — Acts 2:8

So as we read yesterday, the Spirit of God has now fallen on believers. But before you get too distracted by the sound of the wind and tongues of fire — notice what those present experienced as the Spirit fell. One person spoke, and those listening heard that single message in their hometown language. What's happening is the Spirit is doing his job. He's translating the message. And keep in mind there were travelers gathered from all over the country for the celebration of Pentecost. Normally, Jerusalem had a population of about 100,000 people. But during these celebrations, there was well over 1 million present. In other words, there were a lot of "hometown" languages.

This is a miracle of divine communication and understanding. The Spirit was revealing his splendor and advancing the message of truth.

What happened here is something that still happens today. While we often miss seeing it with our natural eyes and hearing it with our natural ears, the Spirit communicates all the time. He is giving aid to our communication and aiding listeners in their understanding.

Consider this today. Try inviting the Spirit to help, guide, and direct your communication today. Ask him to help you to communicate spiritual truth to those around you. Maybe even a specific person who needs to hear the truth. And in your imperfect communication, invite him to communicate the perfect message so that others will hear and respond. The Spirit is still translating spiritual truth so that people can hear and respond. And then get ready to watch the Spirit move like a great wind and great fire.

ASK THIS: What truth do you need to communicate today? (Share it in the comments below)

DO THIS: Invite the Spirit to help, guide, and direct your words convicting others of the Truth.

PRAY THIS: God, I pray you will give me the right words to speak your truth today. But even more in my imperfections, may the Spirit in me speak a perfect truth heard perfectly by others.

PLAY THIS: Holy Spirit.

  1. Cory B says:

May the Holy Spirit be with me today and this week as I have difficult conversations setting my boundaries as a Christian man who wants to do a better job of walking the walk down a narrow path.

  2. Ty Hankel says:

Truth is always in the word.
Holy Spirit guide us to the Father’s will. Let your truth come from your followers Lips 🙏

Those who have ear’s let them hear
Another great scripture with this is 1 Peter 3:10

  3. Steve George says:

God the Father wants a personal relationship with you not just join a church but be involved in the body of believers he is drawing you to. Taste and see that the Lord is good!

  4. Jack Dellinger says:

The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. John 14:10
The words Jesus spoke before telling the disciples He was going away but He would pray that the Father would send another.
Our words must glorify the Father. That means we need to be saying what the Holy Spirit is saying to us, not speaking from our own intelligence. When we speak for the Spirit the hearer hears from the Spirit. The best example of this is found in Acts 15 when Peter spoke the words of the Holy Spirit, the direction of “The Way” was changed.

    Powerful devotion today.
