It’s Power You Want

ENGLISH

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."—2 Corinthians 12:9

We all want power. Power is a means of getting want we want. We especially want power when we feel powerless. In fact, when we see others experience a state of powerlessness, we are compelled to want power for them. But we need to consider this feeling. Often we feel powerlessness is unjust, undeserving, or unfair. And to save face, we attempt to exert willpower to remove ourselves from this state or save others from it. But could this be the wrong reaction? Could powerlessness be our most sufficient occasion? Could we be playing God as we attempt to rescue ourselves and others from this apparent weakness? Might we be getting in the way of God?

In some cases, I think the answer is "yes," because God's power is made perfect in weakness.

DO THIS: Don't get in the way of God's power today.

PRAYER: God, reveal your power, and let me not get in your way.
