Does Jesus Care About Me?
And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!” — John 6:12-14
Sometimes in our life, we are prone to believe that Jesus doesn't care. That he is too big to care about the tiny details of our lives. But this story illustrates precisely the opposite. We watch as Jesus cares about everything. He cares about:
- Our unbelief.
- Our ignorance.
- Our hunger.
- Our provision.
- Our needs in groups.
- Our needs as an individual.
- Our past.
- Our celebrations.
- Our education.
- Our assets.
- Even the scraps of leftovers.
Jesus cares about every tiny little detail of our lives. He cares more about the thing you think he doesn't care about even more than you do. And he wants you to know that he cares, which is why he gave you this miracle. That's right. This miracle was not just for these people. It was for you. Jesus wants you to know that he cares about you the same. So don't for a second believe that Jesus doesn't give a second thought to you. He thinks about you every second of every day, which is why he came to die for you. His life, sacrificed on the cross, is how he cared for every detail of your life. So believe it. He cares for you. The question on the table is — do you care about him?
ASK THIS: Do you believe Jesus cares about the tiny details of your life?
DO THIS: Care about him by believing he cares.
PRAY THIS: God, I believe Jesus cares about every tiny detail of my life.
PLAY THIS: Rapha.
