Knowing That You Know
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.—Genesis 3:5
There is one who knew before you knew. But we did not know enough to listen to him because we did not know him. And this is because knowing him is more than propositional knowledge ("knowing that"). Also, it's even more than process knowledge ("knowing how"). It's personal knowledge ("knowing by relationship"). And when you know God this way, instead of trying to be a god like him, all of the rest of the stuff he wants you to know comes much easier.
