Lack Nothing
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.—James 1:2-4
What man does not want to be perfect and complete? Yet the delta between perfect and complete—between present and future—is costly. Trials. Testing. And honestly, that's more than some of us can bear to think about right now. Career changes. Anxiety. Tension. Stress. Financial stress.
But brother—I am in this too. And sometimes, moments of greatness are right around the corner. While we feel the immediate effects, we need the full effect! And when the moment of the full effect comes, the steadfast man is still standing. And that man is you. So stand fast just one more day in the daily mercies of God.
DO THIS: Stand fast.
PRAY THIS: God, I need your strength to stand fast. May your spirit give me strength for one more day.
