Day 15
ENGLISH

So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all grumbled, "He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner." And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."—Luke 19:6-10

We are forever affected by relationships. Men desire them and want them. Such was the case with Zacchaeus. While ignored and isolated from relationships because of his much-hated occupation, this did not mean that he necessarily wanted his life to be this way. Many feel trapped by life situations and perceive there is no way out of their present circumstance. Such are homeless, culturally oppressed men or those who feel branded by the failings of their past.

But what would happen if we helped brothers see past these challenges and failings and acted in love toward them? What if we took the time to see beyond our assumptive ideas ("He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner") and the apparent issues we perceive with our human eyes?

Men are searching and looking for hope beyond their challenges, cultures, circumstances, and sin. What if today we saw men as hopeful brothers and helped them overcome the obstacles of their past? There are men we know out there in need of relationship, acceptance, and love. Remember that God's love, through you, has the power and potential to turn a man's heart from isolation to involvement that leads to benevolence, philanthropy, and generosity.

DO THIS: This week, we are focusing on the discipline of brotherhood.

Your Call To Act (C.T.A.) today is:
