Day 4

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him. And Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."—Matthew 17:1-4

Peter is always eager to participate. He has an exuberance that some men have, others want, and all men can relate to. He appears to have these impulsive responses throughout the New Testament. And who wouldn't? Peter and his two buds, James and John, catch a rare glimpse of Jesus being changed into a glorified state. And thus his enthusiastic response.

Men who are excited about something show it. On occasion, we will be caught shouting at the television, singing at concerts, and dancing in celebration. We do this when our pretense is low and enthusiasm is high. And it's entertaining to see this from men. But it is even more exciting to see it come from men who are excited about their relationship with Christ as Peter is here! So today, be excited about something. But even more—be excited about Christ. There has to be something that you have spiritually seen or experienced that is worth a shout, song, or dance in your life. Take a moment to praise God about it, and then share it with the people in your life.

DO THIS: This week, we are focusing our discipline on the theme of prayer.

Your Call To Act (C.T.A.) today is:

  • Give Thanks: in the comment section below! Share one thing you are thankful for in 1-5 words.
  • Pray: for 5-minutes, and thank God for this one thing.

Today I thank God for my change of heart almost 4 years ago. I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have the Lord to give me a catalyst for change. I believe true change only comes from a catalyst … a reason… a deep rooted response to a crazy situation. I was going through a crazy time in my life.. I had just started dating Tonya and I made a mistake to allow my wondering eyes to get the attention of an ex and text things I shouldn’t have text and Tonya put my heart to the test.. I thank her so much for making sure and not forgiving me quickly although I wanted it and wanted to move on with our relationship … but she made me wait.. it gave the Lord time to work on my heart as a catalyst of craziness to change my desires of my heart, thank you Lord for the months of uncertainty and pain that had changed my heart to be careful of looking at a woman in lust or using my ability to flirt to get another woman’s attention . Thank you Lord for changing my hearts desires to only want Tonya and no other for the rest of my life until my dying days. Please Lord, keep my eyes focused on you and In result focused on ONLY Tonya! Give my heart the ability to appreciate and accept my brother’s criticism and love I case I ever start to stray! Thank you Lord for my battle brothers!
