Let Him Wash You
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.” — John 13:6-11
There are so many great points to make in this single interaction between Jesus and Peter, but I want to focus on one particular line of this moment. It's where Peter responds to Jesus with, "You shall never wash my feet."
I think many people have this kind of response to Jesus, more than they care to admit. In this situation, Peter attempts to appear as if he is too lowly to let King Jesus serve him. However, this understanding is misplaced, and it is a wrong response to the Lordship of Jesus. Peter longs to appear humble, meek, and undeserving, but if he persists with this response, it will only prevent him from receiving the grace, love, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus.
Jesus must wash his feet.
This means that you must allow the King of Creation to wash your feet.
So for those of you who have been rejecting Jesus because you feel unworthy of his love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy, here are two certainties you need to know. First, you do not deserve to have your feet washed by Jesus. And second, you must let him wash your feet. Therefore, stop rejecting his cleansing. If you do, that's not humility; it's a display of false humility that rejects the very thing you need — the cleansing of Jesus, our Savior and Lord.
So start here today. Say this out loud and see what happens, "Jesus, I need to let you wash my _________________!"
ASK THIS:
- How does Peter's initial response of refusing Jesus' act of washing his feet reflect my own tendencies to resist receiving God's grace and mercy?
- In what ways can I cultivate a genuine humility that allows me to accept and embrace the cleansing and forgiveness offered by Jesus?
DO THIS: Say this out loud and see what happens, "Jesus, I need to let you wash my _________________!"
PRAY THIS: God, give me the humility to accept your cleansing, the wisdom to understand your ways, and the grace to receive your love, forgiveness, and mercy. Amen.
PLAY THIS: Amazing Grace.

Please pray for me to find a group of men in Portland Oregon to pray and worship with. I am a lone wolf Christian. My wife whom I love has rejected the church. I also gave cancer and 6 year old twin girls
Brother Mark, I pray that the Lord will lead you to find community in the Portland area. He has placed you in this area for a reason, shine bright and allow others to see the fruit of the spirit working through & within you ! I pray that the Lord heals you as He sees fit and that cancer is crushed in the process. I pray Lord that Marks health allows him to be a good good father to his twin girls. I prayerfully ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ –
Father,
We lift up Mark to You, praying that You guide him to find a group of men in Portland, Oregon, for prayer and worship. Soften his wife’s heart towards the church, and bring healing to Mark as he battles cancer. Watch over his twin girls and provide the community and support he seeks.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please pray that I can have the strength of the holy spirit to conquer my porn addiction alcohol addiction and cigarettes.
Father I join my brother Bill in prayer this morning. Lord we know that addiction is both painful and challenging to overcome. Bill is asking for your devine intervention as he seeks strength to overcome an addiction to porn and cigarettes. Father thank you for his faith and in seeking strength from the Holy Spirit as he continues to battle these addictions. Father Bill wants to be free of this addiction so that he will be the man you want him to be, thank you Father that you hear his prayers and have already begun healing him and restoring him. I stand with Bill today as an example of deliverance and healing and ask that same thing for him. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen
Please help stand with me throughout this day.
Brother, you’re not alone! Praying for you now and throughout the day that God would strengthen you, guide you and bless you as you go through this season of challenge related to that addiction to porn. I understand, I’ve been there, God is bigger and HE has a plan for you. Hold onto this scripture I Corinthians 10:13. NO temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but when you are tempted HE will provide the way out so that you can endure it!
Feel free to reach out to me as often as you want brother, I’ll stand with you, by you, pray for you and with you. Continue to put your faith and trust in God, he’ll deliver you from this in His time and His way. I’m here today because He did that for me and I know His grace, mercy, forgiveness and healing is yours as well.
Billy I just realized that I only mentioned the porn addiction – not the alcohol or cigarettes, an oversight on my part. I know brother that your addiction is about all of that and you’re being lifted up in prayer as you feel powerless and overwhelmed. Our God is stronger, trust in Him for strength and healing!
Good evening brother,
I just wanted to let you know that you’re continuing in my prayers today. I want to remind you that God has a plan for you and He will strengthen you as you seek Him in prayer and trust him fully for healing and renewal!
Good morning Vince just wanted to say thanks for your labor of love to the brothers may the God of all the redeem continue to strengthen you. Thanks for the reminder that I need to be wash by Jesus.
Thank you brother Vince. One way I do it is by praying a prayer of surrender “O Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything.”
Powerful! Thanks Vince for all that you do.
Praise the Lord! ☝🏻
Powerful. A much needed reminder that false humility is pride! Stay in close communion with Jesus by the Spirit of God, and keep declaring The Truth! Thanks Vince! ❤️💪
