But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.—Ephesians 5:3-4
There is a way that's proper for us men who are saints. And walking in this way means we let no hint of sexual immorality, impurity, or covetous attitude into our community and relationships. And this means we need to stop talking like fools and telling course jokes which signal we're okay with the latter. Instead, there is a way about us as saints; it's noticeable because we're thankful. We have an attitude of gratitude that comes from God and outweighs the need for immorality, coveting, filthy talk, and crude joking. It's a way about our thinking, attitude, and actions that have God in mind and what he has done that stops the progression of immoral behavior.
ASK THIS: What do you need to be thankful about today?
DO THIS: Tell your God, thanks!
PRAY THIS: God, I want to thank you for ______________
PLAY THIS: Elevation: Grateful
