Life in Death
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.—1 Peter 3:18
If you are worried about suffering, then it's time to stop and reflect. Christ suffered. And his suffering was greater than any suffering known to man. His closest friends abandoned him. He was brutally beaten and betrayed by his own people. He was paraded naked down the streets of the city his Father built. He hung on a cross like a criminal enduring brutality no man should endure. And remember, he was righteous. He suffered once for sin though he knew no sin. And that is righteous suffering. We know not what it means to suffer like that. Yet we do enjoy being made alive in the spirit! Brother, you are free from suffering because of his suffering, live free, and praise Christ as King. Death was arrested. Your life has begun.
ASK THIS: Have you discovered freedom in his suffering?
DO THIS: Accept Christ's righteous suffering for you. He arrested all suffering and death with his resurrected life.
PRAY THIS: God, I accept and receive your life, death, and resurrection power.
